A Missional Third Quarter of Year 2019

The third quarter of year 2019 (July- September) saw the various departments of Evangel Tabernacle enlisting our people for the Great Commission of Jesus – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our Mission Field:
The Indigenous People (IP) of Barotac Viejo

Our Mission Creed:
“As a disciple, I am a servant in ministry to others.
I will grow in faithfulness and have greater availability for His use”.

totaling to 314 Evangelites, all geared up in their “army boots” to literally trek to the various hills of Barotac Viejo just to reach out to the IP. It is a joy to see members from our church, ranging from kids as young as 5 years old to senior citizens as old as 70 years old, joining us for this Essential Commission.

4 Sitios (community) of the IP were targeted for this commission – Sitio Kabarangkalan, Sitio Nagpana, Sitio Tigbao and Sitio Panggurayan. A total of 190 IP families totaling to 721 people were reached through the ministries and outreaches of our people.

The greatest testimony of all is to see Mahal, the Lupus patient featured in the Channel News Asia (CNA), Chef Mission, on April, miraculously healed by the Lord on August 2019. The medicines donated by donors who responded to the CNA documentary went a long way too to sustain her health.

We thank God for the proactiveness and generosity of our members from Evangel Tabernacle, who not only availed of their time and effort to go those tough hilly terrains but who also gave generously of their money (About P222,600) to bless the various IP communities with the groceries, stationery supplies, food, livelihood projects like corn planting. Donors from Singapore also contributed to help us further for the medical mission conducted at Sitio Kabarangkalan and coffee planting at Sitio Nagpana.

Above all the good works that we have sown to these forsaken and forgotten indigenous people, we are careful not to forget the core purpose of our outreaches to them – TO SHARE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. Praise God that out of the 721 IP people who attended our outreaches, 270 souls accepted Christ and 6 were healed physically of their sicknesses. Glory be to God.

Ice Scream for Children

Thank you Evangelites, for availing yourself to the use of our Commander Jesus to serve and love the outcasts of the Philippines.

Thank you, donors, from Singapore who gave in big and small ways to help us to reach out to these IP with greater measure of good deeds.

Cloud

Scripture Reading: Exodus 13:21-22, Psalms 104:3

‘By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.’

God Over Answers Prayer

Someone once said, ‘the faith to pray must include the faith to believe God can give even when our prayers are lacking.’ There are all sorts of things we pray all the time and we do not necessary believe them to come to past – but yet they are prayers that get answered.
