A Resounding Filipiniana Bang

By: Joy Lim
Evangel Tabernacle celebrated its 32nd Christmas family nite on December 24 2017, with this year’s theme: “A Filipiniana Christmas- Back to our Roots”.
What seemed like just a one-night event took months of preparation- from the lavish Christmas tree, to the 15-dishes menu spread, the carefully-crafted decors, the elaborate folk dances, games, songs, special presentations, costumes and greetings. Truly, it takes a community to bring to town the most important night of the year; and as each and every member came dressed in their Filipiniana finest and stood proudly to wave off the night, you know this isn’t just your typical community.
This is a family… this is a church.
Saan man sa mundo... Da best ang pasko ng Pilipino.
As 2017 comes to a fast close, and Etab members take the time to remember their cherished roots, there are no qualms about facing the coming new year. As long as we have each other, as long as our Lord Jesus is always with us; there will always be – as senior pastor Toh Nee termed it- the Promise of Adventure.
A Merry Filipiniana Christmas mga kababayan!

A Solemn Fast

Biblical fasting is the voluntary abstaining from food (and sometimes drink) for a spiritual purpose – to seek God with humility, repentance, prayer, and dependence. Biblical fasting is not about manipulating God but positioning ourselves before Him.
