E-Tab is definitely up for “NEW THINGS”!
Ever since transferring to Tabuc Suba, God has been opening doors of opportunities and joint partnerships to reach out to this community. One such collaboration was just last week with Bethesda Frankel Estate Church Singapore doing a first ever dental mission , of course with the participation of E-tab Youth Church!
As such, the school Principal and co-teachers warmly welcomed the team with much enthusiasm. Despite their delayed flight … they came brimming with much excitement for the two days ahead.
After a quick logistical preparation , we started right on time. First up was our Dental Education corner , wherein all were briefed on the importance of brushing three times a day ‘to keep cavities away’ as the song of a local jingle goes . Of course , free toothpaste & toothbrushes were given , and the right way of brushing demonstrated and applied on the spot.
Next , was the Dental Screening area wherein every of the students where given a dental check – up and free fluoride varnishing c/o our very competent dentists. The two days saw a total of 378 students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 6 avail of these dental services, which is indeed a rare commodity for most, considering the worth of dental services nowadays .
It is truly these simple acts of kindness that bridges the gap and brings us all together … rich , not so rich , and poor alike. For that one moment in time we were one in purpose , despite our diverse backgrounds … and this is COMPASSION at its core !
