Building 2 Schools for the Indigenous People

Finally, Evangel Tabernacle, with the help of our Lord, is able to assist the Indigenous People (IP) of Sitio Kabarangkalan, Barotac Viejo, to construct two schools within the IP community. One school is a child care center and the second is the school for the ALS (Alternative Learning School). We thank God for this privilege to collaborate with the DEP-Ed of Iloilo and to also have the support from the LGU (Local Government Unit) of Barotac Viejo in releasing their trucks to us to transport all the building materials that we had purchased at Iloilo City to Barotac Viejo.

Due to discrimination by the majority and the long distance of their hilly abode from the town schools, many indigenous kids are not schooled and are illiterate. Therefore, our Church sees the need to bring education right to their very own community and to enlist the help of Dep-Ed to send government teachers there to educate them.

The construction is now underway and very soon we will be able to see the IP having a building to go to for education. Praise God!

To those from Etab who gave generously to this school construction, this is where your money goes to…

It is always good to remember the poor and the less privileged. It does good to our soul.
