Essential Commission at ETAB for Year 2018

Once again, Etab is in this season of sending out all the DJ Cell groups to the various provinces in Panay to fulfill their third essential in this third quarter under the SIMPLE DISCIPLESHIP CHURCH program called the ESSENTIAL COMMISSION.

The mission creed of Essential Commission is:

As a disciple, I am a SERVANT in ministry to others. I will grow in FAITHFULNESS and have greater AVAILABILITY for His use.

And so goes the many DJ cell leaders enlisting their respective cell members to many churches in Passi City, Dumangas, Oton, Janiuay, Barotac Viejo, Guimaras, Tapaz, Guimbal, Pototan, Calinog, Lambunao, Pavia and even Cagayan De Oro City for mission.

The task description of every cell group is based on Isaiah 61:1-2 and it is as follows:

THEIR MANDATE:
“The Spirit of the LORD God is upon us”

THEIR MOTIVATION:
“The Lord has anointed us”

THEIR METHOD:
“To preach”

THEIR MARKET:
“The poor, the brokenhearted, the captives
and those who are bound.”

THEIR MEASURE:
“PREACH good tidings to the poor; HEAL the broken hearted;
to PROCLAIM liberty to the captives and the OPENING of the prison to those who are bound.

THEIR MOOD:
“To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the
day of vengeance of our God”

God is good as to give initiative and creativity to each cell leader to raise their funds for the Community Penetration (CP) Blessings to the poor; to plan their own evangelistic skits and dramas; to let everyone in their cell be involved in the mission programs and above all to be exposed to preaching to many pre-believers in the various mission churches who are willing to partner with Etab.

As a pastor, I am also attached to a DJ cell and it was only last week that my entire cell returned from our mission trip to Cagayan De Oro City. My cell group chipped in to buy grocery packs for 100 prebelievers of Zion Assembly of God, Cagayan De Oro. Each of us paid for our own airfares and accommodation at Cagayan De Oro. There we met our new-found pastor-friend, Pastor Fernando Casas, who is the SP of Zion AOG.. It was my cell members who took their own initiative to write, produce [thanks to Farrida- Our theatre playwright, producer and directress] and act in a powerful pantomime called ‘CHAINED’. It was also our very own lay cell member, Cheng who preached at Zion AOG to the crowd; it was our DJ cell members, who facilitated the small group discussions. It was a soul-reviving mission trip, not mentioning the bonding [with all the crazy fun and endless laughter] that took place during the trip.

I believe this is also the main itinerary for many DJ Cell groups that went out last week. I am very proud of my DJ cell leaders. They have all matured to a point where they can independently lead mission teams to outstation churches.

The greater challenge will be the mobilization in this weekend of the three major departments – The Youth Central (15-20years old), The TZone (11-14 years old) and the The Kiddie Church (about 40 young kids) for missions. About 60 from each department will be enlisted for this essential commission. The music department has already done their essential commission a few months ago. I know and I believe that all of them will be greatly used by God despite their young age. No one is too young for mission. Again, I am very proud of all the department heads namely Bro Fernand (Youth Central Director), Ptr Carlyn (TZone Pastor), Ptr Anelene (The Kiddie Church Pastor) and Bro Marco (Music Director) who align their vision for their department with Etab’s.

In this mission trip, though much has been invested by the cell groups in the purchase and giving of the CP Blessings to the poor pre-believers, yet I dare to comment that the person who is the most touched is the senior pastor of those mission churches. Many of these pastors are lonely and no one bothers to visit them or even to help them to evangelize their communities. The presence of our cell members there will really be a blessing and comfort to all these lonely pastors.

May God bless all the DJ cell leaders and members of Etab. Thank you for your willingness to be enlisted for the Great Commission. Thank you for your availability to be a servant in ministry and in mission to others who are less fortunate than us. Glory be to God!!!

Holiness And Christ’s Return

Holiness means being set apart for God, living in a way that reflects His character. 1 Peter 1:15-16 says, ‘But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do: for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’
