Mix & Match TKC Giftshop

By: Windeline Arsenal – TKC Teacher

On the 3rd day of April 2016 marks a much awaited event for the whole children of Evangel Tabernacle as they held their first gift shop Sunday within this year with a theme Mix & Match. Inspired by one of the jewelry store here in Iloilo the TKC department headed by Pastor Anelene, sister Maricel and Pastor Rowena transformed the ordinary ETAB garden into a one of a kind jewelry store for children.

Activities such as obstacle race, the defender, origami, beads making, painting and drawing were thoroughly think through and prepared by all the teachers and helpers. Their months, weeks, and days of preparation results to a simple yet elegant set up that would bring forth children to a different dimension.

During the 15th hour of the day I can already feel the excitement of the 310 children who are ready to trade their collected points to valuable things and exceptional experiences. They didn’t just buy accesories they were even given a chance to make one. Teachers constructed an art attack corner wherein the children experienced the wonderful work of art through painting, drawing and folding papers. They were even engaged in activities that would bring out their adventurous side at the same time help them build rapport and teamwork with their fellow children.

In this manner the church did not just focus on nurturing the spiritual aspects of children but rather on building them holistically by providing them a joyful atmosphere and memorable experience.

All labor and sacrifices of the teachers and helpers were all paid off as we witnessed the heartwarming smiles and laugthes from these children. As what we all say “Our labor is not in vain”. But then the success of this event will not be possible without favor and anointing from God and the avid support from our dear senior pastors Ptr. Lily and Ptr Tohnee. Our sincere gratitude is extended to both of you.

This event is just the beginning of the series of wonderful events to come. May we continually inspire children for Gods’ greater glory!

Put Him first in your life and then all these real needs will be met; not the slavish needs that your fallen self wants you to believe.
