One Good Meal 2017

May 13, 2017
@ Etab Tabuc Suba, Jaro

For the first time since transferring to Tabuc Suba, Jaro.. we extended our borders outside of Jaro, Iloilo City… going back to our roots. Retracing our steps, venturing out into the highways and byways we used to tread. It was a reunion of sorts, old contacts, of once familiar places and faces. The aggressive edge which had always been the flavor of Etab was back at the fore.

Such was the emphasis of our One Good Meal this year. No longer concentrating on familiar territory, but claiming back what is ours. And so the church moved as one, in strength, in team work, working together as a unit since day one. From surveying, to fetching, to cooking .. all was done as unto the Lord.

There was much joy and excitement with the day approaching, the church atmosphere bursting with energy and zeal. As such, 903 recipients came, not only to receive of this ‘one good meal,’ but importantly, to partake of the heavenly manna.

Much effort and commitment was put into this event; Pas. Lily who meticulously organized and planned for everything, the DJ Cell Leaders who did the ground work, the ushers, ministry workers, and not to mention all the cooks, whom without which this event wouldn’t have been possible…obviously…and making it a definite ONE GOOD MEAL.

To God be the Glory!

When The Righteous Suffer

Job is a man whose faith was in a God who is worthy to be feared (Job 1:1). The prose begins with a simple statement about a man in the land of Uz. The geographic location of this land is not certain. Some suggest it is near the ancient city of Damascus which borders the desert. It may be identified with Abraham’s nephew who was named Uz (Genesis 22:21).

Even In The Furnace

In Babylon’s religious culture, statues were frequently worshiped as gods. Nebuchadnezzar hoped to use this huge image as part of his strategy to centralize worship in order to unite the nation and solidify his power.
