Quest for Gold

Quest for GOLD – subtracting the L…would be a Quest for God. That was the purpose of this endeavor, as the New Testament Baptist Church & Gilopez Kabayao Foundation in collaboration with Evangel Tabernacle conducted a 2-day retreat for (…a whopping!) 500 students ranging from 3rd to 4th year of the Jaro National High School.

Many among them expected, the usual boring lectures as with other recollections they have attended…and were ready to while away the day in like manner. Much to their surprise, it would be a fun, eye opening, spiritually enlightening day.

With various topics that touched the core of the youth; God and You, God and Your Future, and the topic which brought the house down – Sexuality, with none other than Pas. Lily (not that she is an expert on the topic…just one candid enough to discuss the truths).

That said, we had an extraordinary time getting to know them, getting to listen and really hear them out – and getting to understand the youth of today. On the other hand, they where able to grasp how deep…how wide God’s love is for them. And that was their real treasure!

No one left dried eyed, we were knit together in a bond of brotherhood. At the end of the entire 2 days, we fostered an invisible kinship…as we sang the last few songs of praise to God for what HE had done!

In a scranble of quick hugs and exchanges of cellphone numbers..we promised to keep in touch…and yes we will!

Much thanks to the NTBC and the Kabayao Foundation, whose heart for the Filipino youth is unequaled…you definitely made their day. Our E_tab manangs’ and manongs’…for being just that..a teacher, sister, brother, mother, father…even for but a few days!
