SOS 2012′

It’s harvest month for EFC Iloilo, and as such we once again ventured into the highways and byways of this city – preaching, teaching, persuading one and all that there is but one way – and that is through Jesus Christ our Lord. Consequently, barangay crusades are conducted weekly which will last for about a month, and every Sunday special presentations are put up by the 5 regions – to pull in the net for His glory!

Evangelism being our calling, it is such a joy to witness and be part of the work of salvation. And as a result we are seeing God move in the hearts of men, in a powerful way!

MISSING – May 6, 2012

What is life like without God? Without Him in our lives, there is always something missing, like a piece of our very soul is lost and can’t be found.

Because we were created by God, whether you believe in Him or not, deep down that is a part of us that needs to know and be close to Him…this is the “beyond”. Without that personal relationship with our creator, nothing makes sense, and there is always something missing that can’t be filled by anything of this world.

Once a person is hungry for God, Jesus said, “Let him come to Me.”  If we want to experience the presence of God in our souls, we must come to Jesus.  If we want to know the person of God in our hearts, we must come to Jesus.  If we want to receive the power of God in our lives, we must come to Jesus.

SET ME FREE – May 13, 2012

Each one of us has multiple things we need to be set free from in bondage.

What is your condition?  Maybe like this man you are in the ghetto; low class, cheap, inferior.  You live in unclean places.  You no more enjoy the company of normal men. You are an outcast.  You have no real companion.  You are miserable.  You suffered great physical infliction.  You are a hopeless case.  Efforts had been made to control the wretched man you are, but without success

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18).

Christ commissioned His disciples not only to preach the good news, but to heal the sick and to cast out demons (Luke 9:1, 2). The seventy reported, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Luke 10:17)

The demons and the bondages recognized that they are confronted with One greatly superior to them.  The demons and the bondages had to admit that they are in the presence of the One who threatened their very existence.

YAHWEH

Exodus 33:19 says ‘And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD (Yahweh) before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.’

By his goodness is meant his whole character and nature.  In this context his name includes his mercy, grace, his compassion.

The word mercy is compassion, which is a deep-seated feelings for us

Before God manifested himself to Moses, Moses was very earnest with God.

God’s goodness is his glory. When Moses say show me your glory, he is saying ‘show me your goodness’.

CRY TO GOD

Psalms 70:5 says ‘But I am poor and needy; make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.’

Paul says ‘Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distress for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak then am I strong.’
