True Salvation

By: Winston Vincent Yap / 4-29-18

Titus 2:11-12 King James Version
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

We Christians are used to think that by believing in Jesus would lead us straight to heaven, and I also believe that until now but most of us don’t really know what it means to believe in Jesus.
You see most of Jesus’ disciples left him after a certain time “miracle feeding” “bread of Life”

And it would put a question in our minds because they’ve seen miracles, demons casted out, sick being healed and yet they left Jesus.

How can we really attain true salvation?
It is only by giving your life to Jesus that u can assure your salvation. “further explain later”
We accept Jesus because of love and not because of Fear.
Yet if we continue to believe in this ideology we become foolish, troubled and unlearned

1. Foolish, Troubled and Unlearned
Prov 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Ignorant = some of us are so ignorant that we think everything is ok because we are a Christian.
Disco, horror movies, worldly music, magic / sorcery, play with worldly friends, go to work abroad.

Powerless, oppressed…

The batch that is higher than us in our relgion cannot

Can’t hear God’s word
1 Samuel 3:1
And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

I have seen Christians that do not know what is the will of God for their life and the reason is they don’t hear Gods voice. How can we hear God’s voice?

Wrong thinking

Judges 17:5
5 The man Micah had a shrine, and made an ephod and household idols;[a] and he consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest. 6 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

We are all equal?
E.g. children with weapons / rich kids since birth

are we all beautiful?
along the way we receive something… or since birth we receive because of what our fathers did

Ephesians 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.2 “Honor thy father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:3 “that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”4 And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.5 Servants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ,6 not with eyeservice as menpleasers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,7 with good will doing service, as to the Lord and not to men,8 knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.9 And ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening, knowing that your Master also is in Heaven; neither is there respect of persons with Him.

no “fair” for Hebrew word “coincidence” “retirement”

God forgives yes, but there is always a consequence

Millennial movement = Liberated movement
Prov 30:12-13
12 There is a generation who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation whose eyes are so lofty, and whose eyelids are lifted up disdainfully.

2. Unsaved Christians

Believe in Jesus = ?

Sunday Goers = will they be saved? are they a servant?
I have been a Sunday goer from grade school to college. and I looked back, I was not saved.

busybodies 1 John 2:4
Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

The Cost is High = Rich young ruler
Mark 10:17-30
17 Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”[a]20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches[b] to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.”29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[c] or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.
luke 9:23-24 23 And He said to them all, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.

Luke 9:57-62
57 Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.”58 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air havenests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”59 Then He said to another, “Follow Me.”But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.”61 And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go andbid them farewell who are at my house.”62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 13:24 Strait gate 2 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem.23 Then said one unto Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said unto them,24 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate, for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able.
watch and pray that you may be counted worthy
luke21:36 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

It is a reward for obedience not a gift of grace

Those are Christ’s crucify the flesh
Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Matt 25:14-30 parable of bag of gold
14 “For the Kingdom of Heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods.15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his several ability, and straightway tookhis journey.16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them another five talents.17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained another two.18 But he that had received one went and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and reckoned with them.20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought the other five talents, saying, ‘Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents. Behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.’21 His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’22 “He also that had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.’23 His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’24 “Then he that had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew thee, that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strewed.25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth. Lo, there thou hast what is thine.’26 His lord answered and said unto him, ‘Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed.27 Thou ought therefore to have placed my money with the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with interest.28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath ten talents.29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that hath not, shall be taken away even that which he hath.30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Matthew 24:46-51 Faithful Servant
46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.47 Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, ‘My lord delayeth his coming,’49 and shall begin to smite his fellow servants and to eat and drink with the drunken,50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,51 and shall cut him asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

2 Peter 1:10 Therefore brethren, give diligence all the more to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things ye shall never fall.

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

John 21:15-17
15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah,[b] do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

Holiness And Christ’s Return

Holiness means being set apart for God, living in a way that reflects His character. 1 Peter 1:15-16 says, ‘But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do: for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’
