Yolanda’s Destruction: Northern Panay

Due to the unexpected…and general outpouring of aid both locally and abroad, E_tab organized its second outreach to one of the most devastated areas of Northern Panay. Petitions of relief assistance from different parts of these affected areas have been coming in, and heeding to the tremendous need of the moment…Pas. Toh Nee along with a team of 3 surveyed the damage done by Typhoon Yolanda, particularly in Batad, brgy Daculan, Estancia…

What greeted them upon arrival was mind boggling…damage to infrastructure was beyond comprehension. Sign boards along the route “PLEASE HELP US” were a testament to their desperate plea…often falling on deaf ears. Crowds gathered round the advanced relief team…much more than damage to the land, was the desolation on everyone of their faces, who not only lost homes, sources of livelihood…but loved ones as well. Just minutes before the teams’ arrival, a dead baby was just fished out of the sea…bodies were littered along the coasts and a mass burial for the dead would be conducted the following day…alas, life goes on for these…our fellow Ilonggo’s.

With much of the relief efforts concentrated in Tacloban and Leyte, and our already beleaguered goverment reeling from the calamity brought along by the Bohol earthquake last October…may our fellow Ilonggo’s arise in brotherly sympathy for ESTANCIA. May we like the Macedonian church express our liberality through good deeds:

In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.
2 Cor 8: 2-5

As such, “Operation Relief: Typhoon Yolanda Victims” – will be having its second relief operation at Taguhangin, Ajuy and Binoan, Brgy Daculan, Estancia on 18 November 2013 (Mon), to distribute 1000 relief packs, 1000 6L mineral water, as well as clothing. May we not harden our hearts to the cries of our fellow Ilonggo’s. And God willing as He supplies…”Operation Relief: Typhoon Yolanda Victims” will continue in the following days to penetrate hard to reach barangays, to shed abroad God’s love and helps…thru YOU beloved brothers and sisters in Christ!

Cloud

Scripture Reading: Exodus 13:21-22, Psalms 104:3

‘By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.

He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.’

Healing In His Wings

The “sun” brings light, life and hope to a dark world. And just like the sun, Jesus would come as light into darkness, bringing life and healing.

God Over Answers Prayer

Someone once said, ‘the faith to pray must include the faith to believe God can give even when our prayers are lacking.’ There are all sorts of things we pray all the time and we do not necessary believe them to come to past – but yet they are prayers that get answered.
