Youth Church on: Bullying

By; Ann Marie Servito

It is a truth acknowledged by the many that a single being has his own version of human strife and intimidation caused by the bullying fraction of the society. Although the scars left by harsh words can be thickly concealed, the stigma is undeniably real. This is especially true among the typical youth of today.

The ETab’s Youth Church was congregated by a lot of young people from different parts of Iloilo last Saturday, January 24, 2015, with the topic: The God Who Understands. Unlike the traditional service, the new Youth Church has new activities for the young people to enjoy. The Youth Church may be a service that is a little bit altered and tilted to fit in the preference of the present generation but it has the same goal: to share the love of God through His Word.

The preaching of the Word elaborated on Psalm 147 with the key text:

Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
His understanding has no limit.

There are countless causes of hurts. The meager foes will harm us and wound our hearts through persecutions or sharp words. A heart will eventually break. Hearts are broken in ten thousand ways, for this is a heart-breaking world. There are physical, mental and spiritual symptoms of a wounded heart and it is innate for humans to yield a variety of destructive emotions like anger, bitterness, hate, revenge and even depression caused by supressed anger.

Healing is achieved through forgiveness, letting go and moving on. Healing requires a complete surrender to Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals our inner wound. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. Our God revives and renews. He alone can do it and He will do it if you allow him to.

God Over Answers Prayer

Someone once said, ‘the faith to pray must include the faith to believe God can give even when our prayers are lacking.’ There are all sorts of things we pray all the time and we do not necessary believe them to come to past – but yet they are prayers that get answered.
